Another good race

Postby MikeM » Mon Jun 25, 2007 8:43 am

I know this should go into fan raves. But it won't let me post there. Says I have to be a mod to post there.

Anyways. great job to Pat, Dan, and Don. You guys are getting faster and faster.

Jeff and Arron were fast as normal, and looked real good.

Scott has his truck flying, even seen air under the left front tire when it left the line in open.

The guys from Iron Mtn way have nice looking trucks and run real strong.

A lot of quality trucks in every class.

Good job to everyone.

Oh, and forgot to mention. Heck of a job by the Ford boys and their blown up big block. I had you guys counted down and out for this race. That is big bang as well as press on reguardless material right there. Quite the effort men.

Mike -

This is two races now that you have gone to and it sounds like you had a great time each race; have you ordered the tubing yet?!? Here is what you need next -

I'll go 50/50 with you and you can use it first!!!

Eric i think he has a bender. That link does not state if it bends DOM tubing.

I have that same bender. I just don't have the power option for it yet. Mine is manual right now. I have a power unit, just not a cylinder yet. It is on my long list of to do projects list. Camaro and woodchipper first.

Pete it bends DOM tube, but not with the nice mandral bends.

I wonder if they offer a "manual" mandrel ball setup for that bender? I was just starting to research it as I am going to build my new car this winter and will be in need of one and was looking at buying that model. How has it been for you - ok? Would you recommend it? Maybe we can work a deal out like I'll buy the cylinder (I already have an air-to-hydraulic power pack from another piece of equipment) and we can share it or something like that; think about it and let me know.

So, I'm not sure what you all have to do with the Camaro, but the wood chipper sounds like a fairly quick project, maybe you'll be bending tube by the end of summer?!?

I looked at the race results and was disappointed to see that Sleeman's were not on the list. I was so hoping that they caught the bug again, but maybe knowing Dave, he is getting it tuned up right before he comes out again. Lena is going to be a great race and hopefully we can get the same or better UPMDA turnout as we had in Baraga. Can you get a set of 44's under that Camaro

Here is the web site -

http://inthemud.com/

My friend talked to Chris (the club president ) last weekend and they shrunk it to a one day show instead of the usual two day show, but he still anticipates a good pro level turnout along with the Monster Trucks - we'll be there for sure! I'm not sure how he will decide the running order, but I think he is basically going to combine the two days into one like early afternoon was Saturday and late afternoon is the Sunday classes. It sounds like it is going to be a FULL day of racing and they are really good about keeping the action going. I hope to see you guys there ---
