Well, another race season has come and gone and proved to be another successful year. Can you believe that the UPMDA celebrated its 20 Year Anniversary this year? Throughout those 20 years, there have been several positive changes made to help keep the Association growing and moving in the right direction. The biggest change made this year was adding a new class, the Consistency Class. This class proved to be very successful and well accepted at all the tracks. I would like to thank all of our 2009 Sponsors for your support and donations that helped make this a successful year. I would like to thank all the tracks for giving us a place to race and all the volunteers that made these races possible. We had 8 races this year with 3 of those at new tracks, 2 at Hannahville and 1 at Houghton. Both of these locations turned out to be very nice facilities and hopefully we will be invited back to them next year. Our Champion track is the only track that has supported the UPMDA for the entire 20 years; I would like to thank them for their years of dedication to the UPMDA. When our last race that was scheduled for Watersmeet got cancelled with only 3 weeks notice, everyone wasn’t ready to hang it up for the year. A few phone calls were made and within a day and half’s time, a replacement race was setup for Hannahville. I would like to give a special thank you to Will Sagataw & Bill Wandahsega for making this second Hannahville race happen in such short notice. Thank you again on behalf of all the racers for all your efforts in making this happen. I would like to thank all the racers and their families for making this another successful and safe season. With the change in our points system this year, it made for a tighter points chase. At the end, everyone was trying there hardest not to red light, break down, or go out of bounds. It made for some awesome racing. I would like to thank all the 2009 Board Members for volunteering your time to make the race season possible. Most of the board positions require numerous hours of time behind the scenes that no one sees. But without their dedication and time spent throughout the year, the 2009 season would not have happened. Thank you again for a successful 2009 Race Season. Jeff Solomon 2009 UPMDA President
