First race of 2008 at Baraga |

 Ready or not, the first race of the 2008 season is almost here. The race is in Baraga on May 31st and and is hosted by the Baraga Fire Department. It will be behind the Ojibwa Casino on M-38. All proceeds go to the Baraga Fire Department to help fund emergency equipment and community events. - Hotel rates at the Ojibwa Casino and the 4 Season motel across the street are $45.00 per night, Firday and Saturday. You MUST mention the mud drags to get this rate: Call 906-353-7611 or 800-323-8045 to reserve your room.
- The Ojibwa Casino has donated $250.00 to the first place purse in Class 10 -Unlimited.
- The Pressbox Lanes, located in the casino, will have live entertainment provided by the band "Nudge" from Marquette on Fri. and Sat. and drink specials on Saturday after the race, Happy hour prices for participants $0.50 off. You must show your wristband (black & white) on.

The U.P. Mud Drag Association had a booth at the annual U.P. Recreation Show in Marquette the weekend of April 18th – 20th. Members were present to help raise money for bigger payouts for our Marquette Race; we had a Cotton Candy sale and a raffle for a custom U.P. Mud Drag Association Jacket, the winner of the jacket was Dan Wertanen of Negaunee (pictured in the bottom right corner). We also had picture taking and club stickers for sale at the Rec. Show. The Marquette Race is going to be held on August 9th at the Marquette County Fair Grounds. |
